I'd say it very much is disputable. Show me an Uncharted 4 or Bloodborne on PC. Show me a PC I can get for £350 that matches PS4 Pro technically. That also needs to include a controller. Hell, show me a PC I can get for £250 that matches the PS4 Slim. Saying a console is a one use machine is just bollocks. PS2 drove DVD sales and, if I remember correctly, PS3 was (and could still be) the biggest streamer of netflix content.
Depending on the criteria you pick you could easily say that console gaming is best; any game purchased will work on your machine, plug and play out of the box, multiplayer is always on a technical level field. To say that one is "best" is just plain wrong when you're talking about two platforms that have very different approaches to gaming.
