I'm selling my 980Ti if you're interested. I'll send you a message. But yeah that is the problem when you are coming from a monster card like the 690. You sort of need a higher end card to be guaranteed a significant improvement across all games. That is why the 980Ti is perfect for you, specifically my one
I was going to suggest the same.
Obviously it isn't the most powerful card on the market but seeing as you mentioned value - in terms of frames for £'s the RX480 is the best value card on the market.
It is about value in its particular category too. Being valuable at the lower end of the market isn't much use if you are looking at solid 60fps for the next couple of years, 4K and VR. You could argue the 1080 isn't the most valuable, but in its category it would be.
Nvidia has to be thinking about asynchronous compute with their next chip designs, and if they are I can see it destroying AMD's efforts in DX12.
The card you guys have been waiting for:
I'm thinking it will be £750-ish for the basic version.
Maybe they'll have a coupon day or something.
Everyone has a right to enjoy these graphics cards.
Those Nvidia scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could they didn't stop to think if they should!
** UPDATE, after further examination of the screenshot, we think it was tempered with, this information looks to be FAKE as far as I can tell. Look at the 3328 CUDA cores in the screenshot, you'll notice that 28 is placed lower in there compared to 33.
They now reckon its fake, which kinda makes sense. If they follow the 980 > 980Ti release pattern then we won't be seeing the 1080Ti until next year, and then we'll have Volta anyway. Wasn't 980Ti only because we didn't have a new generation from Nvidia last yet? If so we might not see the 1080Ti at all.
My arc mouse arrived. Seems nice and fancy but not the most precise mouse ever. It does dart slightly across the screen from time to time.
Anyone want to buy my monitor? I really need to get this.
I've had an ultrawide monitor since before it was cool!
Yeah but is it curved, gsync, 34 inch with no bezel?
Nothing wrong with Acer.
We were talking about this on Discord last night, wouldn't 34 inch be a little overwhelming on a desk?
Saying that though if I was wealthy and had money to burn I would likely impulse purchase something like that, and not care if it was too big!
Senor was saying that. I was saying you can't get too big!
